Twill Fabrics

Products for category Twill Fabrics

Twill is a weave structure characterized by a diagonal rib pattern created by passing the weft yarn over one or more warp yarns. The diagonal construction gives twill fabrics three advantages over plain weave for uniform applications:

  • Higher durability — the longer weave float reduces friction points, making twill more abrasion-resistant than plain weave at the same weight
  • Better drape — twill fabric conforms to the body more fluidly than stiffer plain-weave fabrics
  • Wrinkle resistance — the diagonal structure hides wrinkles better than plain weave

Twill is the most common weave for uniform trousers, blazers, and workwear — accounting for approximately 70% of all uniform fabric orders.
