Why Four Fibers?
No single fiber can deliver all the properties a uniform trouser needs:
| Fiber | Strength | Weakness |
|---|---|---|
| 100% Cotton | Soft, breathable | Wrinkles, wears out fast, no crease hold |
| 100% Polyester | Durable, no-iron | Hot, clammy, looks cheap |
| 100% Linen | Premium look, cool | Wrinkles heavily, expensive |
| Linen-Cotton (LC) | Good balance | Limited durability in high-wear areas |
M4-2314 solves all four limitations in one fabric. The polyester content (25%) is enough to provide genuine wrinkle resistance and wash durability without dominating the hand feel. The linen+cotton+viscose (75% combined) ensures the fabric breathes, drapes, and feels natural against the skin.
No other single-component fabric at this price point achieves this balance.
Fabric Hand & Appearance
- Hand feel: Soft, substantial, with a dry finish. No polyester shine or clamminess. Feels closer to a cotton twill than a polyester blend.
- Appearance: Clean, uniform twill surface — the linen content adds subtle texture without the heavy slub of high-linen blends. Looks appropriate for corporate office, hospitality front desk, and smart-casual settings.
- Drape: Moderate structure. Holds a crease well. Does not sag or bag at the knees.

FAQ
Q: How does this compare to a standard poly-cotton (65/35) trouser fabric? A: Superior in every metric except cost (marginally higher). The 35% natural fibers (linen + cotton + viscose) vs. 0% in standard PC means better breathability, better hand feel, and a noticeably more premium appearance. The 25% polyester is still enough for excellent wrinkle resistance and durability.
Q: Can this fabric replace wool-poly suiting? A: At this price point, it is the closest alternative to wool-poly suiting available. It lacks the spring and loft of wool, but has better wrinkle resistance and easier care. Ideal for programs where wool was considered but rejected on cost or maintenance grounds.
Q: Does the polyester content make it hot? A: 25% polyester is below the threshold where fabric feels synthetic. The 75% natural fiber content (linen+cotton+viscose) dominates the hand feel and breathability. It wears closer to cotton than polyester.
Q: What’s the most popular color? A: Black and Navy are the top sellers for corporate uniform programs. Charcoal follows for management-level roles. Khaki is popular for resort and casual corporate settings.
Q: Can I get a sample to test crease retention? A: Yes. Free A4 swatch or cut yardage at cost. We encourage wash testing — run a sample through your industrial laundry cycle and verify crease retention and shrinkage before committing to bulk.
